In Pro, from 1.3.0. JPEG and PNG images from your document, and the featured image you upload with it, are converted to WebP as they are imported, but only when the WebP is genuinely smaller. Photographs usually shrink a lot; flat logos, icons and simple diagrams are often smaller as PNG and keep their format. PNG transparency is preserved, originals are never deleted or overwritten, and a summary after publishing shows how many images were converted and how much was saved. You can set the quality or turn it off under Settings → Image Optimization. Nothing outside DocxToWP’s own imports is touched, so it is not a general image-optimisation plugin and does not replace one.

Headings, emphasis, links, nested lists, blockquotes, tables and fenced code blocks all come through. The first # Heading is used as the post title, or the filename if there is none. Front matter is removed, with its title: honoured. Images with a full https:// URL are kept. An image with a relative path such as images/photo.jpg cannot be resolved from a single uploaded file, so on the single-file screen it is left out and the preview tells you which ones. In Pro’s bulk import (from 1.2.7) drop the images folder in with the .md files and every relative image is matched by its filename and placed in the post (a Joplin _resources folder, an Obsidian attachments folder or a Notion export all work) and the first one becomes the featured image unless something else claims it.
